I just imagined a Goomba collapsing an apartment building with a single headbonk and I have no idea what to feel.

How would Chain Chomps be ranked? They're treated as generally the most power and most durable enemies next to Thwomps.

Could it work as a Death Battle if a Chain Chomp from Mario games battled against the worm, snake boss from Zelda Link to the Past?

I don't think it scales to anything that reaches past Island level, while if we're being really generous, Chain Chomps are typically used in the final levels of the RPGs where they have Island level strength. Of course, this is likely wanke, but I'd consider them somewhat on par with the Bros. since they normally can't damage them through physical means, while the opposite is true for the Chomps. But that's just me.

That idea remind me of a fight I read on the fanon wiki where the Mummipokey, a one off boss from new super Mario bros, fought against the Skeldritch, a one off boss form Zelda Spirit Tracks.
