I want to get this game(it includes the first game as well), but since the 3DS is region locked, I can't import it unless I buy a Japanese 3DS which I do not want to do.

I'm in the same situation as NIK12787. It's so annoying how the 3DS is region locked (>-<)!

Yeah. What the hell was Nintendo thinking when they made the 3DS region locked? Making a system region free IMO usually boosts sales and profits due to imported games.

Indeed~ I've never owned the original DS. There's a backlog of Japanese DS games I'm interested in. At least DS titles are region free, I hear. Otherwise, I never would've even bought the 3DS.

I find very odd though, Nintendo's portable systems were region free since the original Game Boy until the 3DS. If they made their portable systems region free since 1989(22 years), what the heck made them change their minds to make the 3DS which came out last year(2011) region locked?

I like importing games because a good amount of games never come to the US, and like I said, importing games boost sales and profits for the company. Region locking can hurt sales sometimes. I like my 3DS but damn Nintendo, this was a bad move.

Yeah. For now, there are no 3DS games from Japan that I'm interested in. When that day comes, though, I have no idea what I should do (<_<;). Maybe by then, the 3DS will be cheap and I'll just have to suck it up and get a second hand one or something~

Well it is awesome news, but IMO I rather have a physical copy most of the time but I agree, better than nothing. Might have to get a bigger SD card then and a eShop card to get the game. Hope they localize Shinovi Versus for Vita.
