I agree it's not fantastic, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also, ditto on the soundtrack...

I have seen every Hayao Miyazaki film and almost every other Studio Ghibli film, and I consider them as one of the best film-making studios ever. My favourites are Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (even though I prefer the manga), Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. I consider Hayao Miyazaki as one of the top three best directors ever, I just love his movies. I don't usually watch anime, but his movies are something special.

I don't wanna admit to any of them being "weakest", but I'd probably go with Castle in the Sky outta what I've seen. I just wish there were some people in the castle, or atleast more strange creatures. More than one functioning robit, and some fish for like 3 seconds.

I believe that was the whole idea of the castle, it was deserted after greedy and powerhungry people destroyed themselves, and now there's nothing but a single robot, the last of it's kind, to take care of the once great castle. Or that's how I remember it, I might look at it again since it's been a while.

Actually, it gets more love than some of Miyazaki's other movies. Just saying...

Maybe not, but it's considered to be one of his best in general. It's even on the IMDb Top 250, something only 7 anime movies can brag about (6 of them being his works...)
