Just saw Poppy Hill.

Loved it. The conflict wasn't huge, but the movie made up for it with amazing visuals (as usual), likable characters (mostly as usual), and a FANTASTIC soundtrack.

I didn't like it as much as The Secret World of Arrietty, to be honest. I think the way it resolved the you-know-what conflict was piddling, dropping it significantly in my eyes...

Eh. It gave me closure, and it was realistic, so I didn't mind when it sort of just ended that particular conflict.

I just realized, I don't say enough good about Howl's Moving Castle. Here are 5 positives about the movie:
1. It's beautifully animated.
2. Sophie X Howl = best couple in a Miyazaki movie, and they actually kiss too!
3. Its main theme is my favourite of the Miyazaki/Hisaishi collabs.
4. It has my favourite dub in a Disney-dubbed Studio Ghibli movie.
5. I love everything about the design of Howl's castle...

I've enjoyed many of the feature films that Studio Ghibli has produced, but I still need to check out Porco Rosso. So if anyone has any recommendations on what I've missed let me know but I think I've hit the major ones.

Watched List
Spoiler
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, Grave of the Fireflies, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirted Away, Howl's Moving Castle.

Each film has their own merits and hit all different kinds of emotions..in particular Grave of the Fireflies..that was a tough one to sit through. If I had to choose I guess that my favorite would have to be Princess Mononoke but I really enjoyed Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind too.
