I figure a thread like this would breed some good discussion and reveal the general music taste of the members of this board. So without further adieu, I'll get us started, with my five in no particular order.

I have a problem narrowing it down to top 5 bands, much less 5 albums. But here's my attempt.

Metallica - Master of Puppets

Tool - Lateralus

NIN - Downward Spiral

Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast

Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses

Honorable Mentions: In Flames - Jester's Race, Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power, Slayer - Reign in Blood, A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step, Monster Magnet - Powertrip

Man, lotta metalheads on here. I was tempted to put ride the lightning on, but I only really use it for a psych-up album, if i'm studying or mentally preparing for a race. I think what most influenced my descisions was either sentimental value, like the moments I have attached to certain songs (Foile a Deux, is like one memory per song) or just their ease of listen-ability if that makes any sense.

I was tempted to put this on my list. Picking 5 is harsh

Tell me about it. That's why I added honorable mentions.

A lot of old school video game music has very similar sounds to metal so it's not hard to imagine people on a video game site being metalheads.
