I've seen topics for many different genres for quite some time, but have never seen one where it was focused just on this. So comon let's suggest things to fellow metal-heads or tell about any going ons.

Metal is a pretty wide genre. Personally I'm a big fan of the new wave of British Heavy Metal. Also really digging folk metal bands like Korpiklaani.

I foresee many arguments on what is metal and what is not metal :)

Anyway, i used to be big into the Metal scene about 2 years ago. I still listen to a good few bands but not nearly as much as i used to :)

These two albums, along with "Bonded by Blood" from Exodus are what started it all for me. Dark Angel doesn't get mentioned nearly often enough when people talk about thrash and that's a goddamn shame because they thoroughly embarass the 'Big 4', album-for-album.

Also, Gene Hoglan is the fuckin' man.

The death albums that get the most listens out of me are the first two, and Human.

Only metal I really like is Anthrax... And Judas Priest I guess.

Also your cookie metal is good. RATT and shit, but I don't really listen to them.
Also Motley Crue is awesome.

Frank Zappa is my rock guy.

Yeah Thin Lizzy is stunning, and I don't know much about prog metal but I'm sure symphony X is popular in that.
